Book a table

Tables are released thirty days ahead, and the seven o'clock ones tend to go the morning they appear. If we are full, the eight seats at the zinc bar are held back for walk-ins — no list, no deposit, just come in and see.

Request a table

Tell us when, and we'll do the rest

Every request is read by a person — usually Aoife, usually between services. You'll get a proper confirmation by email, not an automated holding message.

Your table

Pick a date — we take bookings up to thirty days ahead. We're closed on Mondays, and Sunday is lunch only.
Choose a service time so we know which sitting to look at. Last kitchen order is 21:45 — 21:00 on Sundays.
How many of you?

Six or more takes a €20 per person card hold. For eight or more, ring us — that conversation is quicker than any form.

Where would you like to sit?

We'll do our best, but on a full Saturday the room decides. The Loft is up one flight of stairs and there is no lift.

Are we celebrating anything?

Your details

We need a first name for the table card.
A surname helps us find you in the book.
Please give us a working email — the confirmation goes there.
A phone number, in case the fire has other plans. Only used if something changes on the night.
Tell us now rather than on the night and we can actually plan for it. We keep a coeliac-safe prep area, the full allergen list is at the door, and the vegan tasting menu needs 48 hours' notice. Step-free entrance from Marlowe Street, accessible WC on the ground floor.
Please confirm you've read the booking policy.
Request received — thank you. Nothing is confirmed just yet. We check the book by hand and come back to you by email within a few hours, and always the same day during service. If you don't hear from us by the next morning, ring 01 555 0184 and we'll sort it on the spot.

Not connected yet. Booking requests are ready to send, but no form provider has been configured. Add yours to the forms block in config.js — see SETUP.md. Until then the form falls back to the visitor's own mail app. This note disappears once a key is in place.

The fine print

Four rules, and none of them are new

We are twelve tables. An empty one on a Saturday is the difference between a good week and an awkward one, so these are the rules we hold to — politely, but we do hold to them.

  • Deposit

Parties of six or more. A €20 per person card hold, taken when we confirm. It is never charged if you turn up, or if you cancel in time, and it comes off nothing on the night — it is a hold, not a payment. One to five people: nothing at all.

  • Cancellation

Every booking. Twenty-four hours' notice, by phone or email, and the hold is released the same day. Inside 24 hours we charge it, because at that point the table cannot be refilled and the food is already bought.

  • Late arrival

Every booking. Ring us. Genuinely — a two-minute call and we will move the kitchen around you. Silence is the only thing we can't work with.

  • Grace period

Every booking. Fifteen minutes. After that we may release the table to whoever is waiting at the bar, and on a Friday we usually have to. Policy last reviewed January 2026.

Questions we get asked

Only for six or more, and only as a card hold of €20 a head. Nothing is taken from the card unless you cancel inside 24 hours or don't arrive. For one to five people we ask for nothing at all — we'd rather trust you and be occasionally disappointed.

Reply to your confirmation email, or ring 01 555 0184 after four o'clock. Twenty-four hours' notice and there is no charge and no hard feelings. Moving to another night is usually easier than cancelling outright, and we will always try to find you something.

We hold the table for fifteen minutes. Beyond that it depends entirely on the night — midweek we can usually stretch, on a Saturday there are people at the bar hoping you don't show. One phone call fixes almost all of it. If you arrive very late we may have to shorten the menu, because the fire keeps its own schedule.

Assistance dogs anywhere in the building, always, no notice needed. Otherwise the dining room is a no — it is a small room with an open hearth and a lot of people carrying hot plates. Well-behaved dogs are welcome on the courtyard terrace from May to September, where there is usually a bowl of water and a sous chef who will make a fuss of them.

Ask, and we will note it, and we will try. What we won't do is promise it — with twelve tables, one late-running party is enough to undo the whole plan. If you want table four by the window for an anniversary, tell us in the notes and book the early sitting. That is the honest way to get it.

After you press send

What happens next

No booking widget, no third-party platform, no confirmation code you'll need a login to read. Just the four steps below.

You send the request

It lands in the bookings inbox with your date, time, party size and any notes. Nothing is charged and nothing is confirmed at this point.

We reply by email

Usually within a few hours, always the same day if you write before service. If the time you wanted is gone, we'll offer you the two nearest slots rather than a form letter.

A reminder the day before

One short email with the time, the number of covers and a link to cancel in a single click. If anything has changed, that's the moment to tell us.

The table is held 15 minutes

Arrive, give your name at the door, and someone will walk you to it. The fire has been going since four; you're not waiting on anything but a menu.

Prefer to talk to a person?

Ring us — we're by the pass from four

Same-day tables, big groups, cakes, allergies, or a booking so specific it needs a conversation. The phone is quicker than the form, and there is nobody on the other end reading from a script.
