The carte
What we're cooking this week
The menu is rewritten every Tuesday, an hour after the Cloughjordan van pulls away and we can see what we actually have. Some of it will still be here on Saturday. Some of it goes by Wednesday and does not come back until next year.

Prices include VAT and there is no service charge — what you see is what lands on the bill. If something has just gone, we will tell you before you get attached to it.
Questions we get at the pass
Properly, once a week. The Cloughjordan van arrives Tuesday morning and the board gets rewritten by lunchtime, so the list you are reading on a Monday is last week's. Four or five dishes — the octopus, the lamb, the beetroot, the honey tart — have earned tenure and rarely move. Everything else is fair game, and a dish can vanish mid-service if the fish runs out.
Tuesdays and Wednesdays only, €25 corkage per bottle, two bottles maximum per table. We would rather you brought something you have been saving than something we already have on the list — and if it is genuinely special, pour Aoife a taste and the corkage tends to be forgotten.
Children are very welcome at the weekend lunch sittings and at the Sunday long lunch, less so at half nine on a Saturday night. There is no separate children's menu — instead the kitchen will do a smaller plate of the pasta, the potatoes or a piece of plain grilled fish for around €12. Two high chairs, and the changing table is in the accessible WC on the ground floor.
Yes — email hello@emberandoak.example.com and Aoife will send the current list as a PDF, usually the same day. About 140 bottles, roughly two thirds from small European growers, organic-leaning and mostly low-intervention. If you are planning a dinner around a particular bottle, say so and we will hold it back for you.

Read it, then come and eat it
Tables are released thirty days ahead and the weekends go about ten days out. Midweek you can usually walk in before seven if you don't mind the zinc bar — and the bar is where the octopus tastes best anyway.
