A free listing is free. Not a trial, not a first month, not free until we grow — submit the tool, a human reviews it, and it stays up for as long as it exists. The two paid options on this page buy position, and that is all they buy.
Only Sponsored is billed on a cycle. Free is free and Featured is a single charge.

Every plan gets the same review, written by the same people, with the same willingness to say a tool is not ready. Paying moves a listing up the page. It has never moved a sentence.
Line by line
The whole difference between the three plans, with nothing rolled up into a phrase like “advanced placement”.

Who you are actually paying to reach
Numbers from the last full month, measured in our own logs. We publish them here so nobody has to email and ask.
Median, not mean, because one runaway launch should not flatter the rest. The worst featured run we have had returned 71 clicks; the best returned 2,140. Ask us what a category typically does before you buy — we will tell you.
The questions makers actually ask
Mostly variations on “what exactly am I buying, and what happens when I stop paying for it”. Both are fair.
Is the review paid for?
No. Placement is for sale; the write-up is not. An editor installs the tool, runs it against a real project and writes down what happened, and none of that changes because an invoice was paid. If a sponsored tool has a free tier that turns out to be a mirage, the listing says so — on the same page you paid to put at the top.
How long does a review take?
Free submissions are answered in two to five working days. Paid submissions jump the queue: two working days for Featured, one for Sponsored. Our average across everything last month was 1.6 working days. If we are going to be slower than that, you get an email with a date rather than silence.
Do you ever remove listings?
Three reasons only: the tool has shut down, the site has been unreachable for more than 60 days, or the maker asks us to take it down. We re-check every entry quarterly and mark anything that has gone quiet before it disappears. If we pull a paid placement for our own reasons, the unused portion is refunded without you having to ask.
Is the outbound link dofollow?
On Featured and Sponsored listings, yes — a normal dofollow link to whichever URL you give us. Free listings link out with a nofollow link. We do not sell links anywhere else on the site, we do not sell links on their own, and there is no way to buy one into an article.
What happens when my sponsorship ends?
The listing stays. You lose the top-of-search placement, the home-page hero and the Sponsored label, and the entry drops back to the standard sort position in its category with a nofollow link. The page itself, the review, the screenshots and the votes it collected all stay live for as long as the tool exists.
Do you take a cut of my revenue?
No. There are no affiliate links, no referral codes and no revenue share anywhere on Stacklist. The three prices on this page are the only money that changes hands, and they are the same whether you are one person with a side project or a company with a sales team.
Can I get a refund?
Featured is refundable in full until the moment it goes live, and not afterwards — it is a fixed 30-day run we schedule other placements around. Sponsored can be stopped at any time and we refund whole unused months. Nobody has to explain themselves to get either one.
Can I upgrade a free listing later?
Any time, and it keeps its URL, its review, its votes and its comments. Upgrading changes where the listing appears and nothing else — we do not rewrite the entry, and the review does not get friendlier on the way up.
How many sponsors do you take?
One sponsored slot per category at a time, and never more than three across the home page. When a category is full we tell you the date the current run ends and hold your place in the queue. We would rather turn money away than build a page where every second row is an advert.
Start with the free one
Send us the tool, let an editor use it, and see what a listing does for you before you spend anything. Upgrading later takes one email and keeps the same page.
Average review time this month: 1.6 working days.
