The developer tools worth your afternoon

Every tool on Stacklist has been installed, run against a real project and written up by a human. No affiliate rankings, no pay-to-win ordering — sponsored placements are labelled and nothing else moves.

Six tools our editors have spent real time with. Sponsored entries pay for placement, never for the write-up.

Eight categories, no filler

We would rather cover eight areas properly than forty badly. Each category is maintained by someone who actually ships with these tools.

How a tool gets on this list

Three steps, and the first two are ours. Most submissions are answered inside two working days.

  1. Submitted or spotted

Makers submit their own tools and our editors add what they find in the wild. Either way the entry starts as a draft nobody can see.

  2. Installed and used

We run the tool against a real project for at least a week. If the onboarding is broken or the free tier is a mirage, that goes in the write-up.

  3. Published and kept current

The listing goes live with pricing, specs and honest caveats. We re-check every entry quarterly and mark anything that has gone quiet.

Built something developers should know about?

Submitting is free and always will be. If you want the top of the category or a spot on the home page, there are paid placements — clearly labelled, honestly priced.
