Book in about a minute

Tell us what you need and when suits. Marta or Tom will confirm by phone or email within one working day — usually the same morning.

Not connected yet. Brightwater Dental is a fictional practice used for this template, and no form provider has been configured, so nothing is delivered and no appointment is booked. Set one in config.js — see SETUP.md — and this notice disappears.

Before you book

Questions we are asked every week

Routine examinations are normally available within two weeks at Marlowe Quay and rather sooner in Sandyford. Hygiene appointments book further ahead — typically three to four weeks — so it is worth booking your next one as you leave. Emergencies are a different queue entirely: ring before 10:00 and we see 96% of callers the same day.

Say so in the notes box above, and it will be on the screen before you walk in. Nervous patients get a longer slot, a first appointment where nothing is done except talking and looking, and an agreed hand signal that stops everything immediately. Dr Whelan also runs a sedation list on Wednesdays for people who need more than reassurance. You will not be judged, and you are not unusual — roughly one in six of our patients tells us the same thing.

Ring, email or reply to your reminder text at least 24 hours ahead and there is no charge at all. Inside 24 hours we may charge half the appointment fee, because that chair time cannot be given to somebody else at short notice. We waive it for genuine emergencies without making you explain yourself.

Yes. Both waiting rooms have a low table with books and there is always somebody on the desk. If you would rather they were occupied elsewhere in the building, say so when you arrive and we will sort it out.

We hold a limited number of Dental Treatment Services Scheme places and they are usually full. Ring the practice and ask to be put on the list — Marta keeps it and will call you when a place comes up. PRSI Dental Benefit, which covers an annual examination and a scale and polish, is available to everybody who qualifies with no waiting list.

Would you rather just ring?

Plenty of people would. The phone is answered by Marta or Tom between 8am and 6pm, and neither of them will put you through a menu.
